This is where I tell you I picked up my first camera at the age of 5...

But I'm not going to tell you that. While I was known as "the girl with the disposable camera" growing up, that didn't have the greatest impact on my love for photography.

See the photo on this page? That's my daughter, Carmen, playing in a sprinkler in our backyard on a random summer day. If I can point to any specific photo that catapulted me into photography, this is it. A snippet of ordinary life with emotive power. These imperfect moments are the ones I strive to capture.

I was always a lifestyle photographer, but my style and philosophy of capturing the ordinary snippets of my life, your life, evolved this past year when I did some serious reflecting on my work. I thought about how fortunate I have been to document so many milestone moments, personally and professionally.

We all have extraordinary moments in our life—be it birth, recitals, graduations, weddings, promotions.  And these should be celebrated and documented and savored with the emotional tug those memories provide.

The evolution of my photography has led me to offer my clients the option to capture everyday life too. Breakfasts, after-dinner walks, homework, Legos, canoeing, the grocery store. These everyday moments, in all their imperfection tell the most beautiful stories.

xxoo,

Christina
