Philadelphia Lifestyle Photographer | The Coppolinos
These guys have trusted me with their family photos year after year. And each year it just keeps getting better and better. More laughs and more love. Coppolinos...I'm not sure what else to say other than...you guys are truly the best!
#ProjectWeekend | May 6-7
It took me roughly 3 days to recover from this weekend. Taking care of 3 kids, a dog, and a cat can really make a girl want to sleep for a week straight. Good news...I survived and also got to spend some time with my favorite girls, Josephine and Adabelle. While I didn't have much time to actually photograph our weekend because most of my time was spent picking up toys, carrying kids, and making sure that everyone stayed fed and happy, I was able to snap a few of our more quiet moments. Shout out to all the moms out there with multiple kids...you deserve an award!

For me, the best part about documentary photography is the setting--especially when the setting is a family's home. Embracing the silence, the messes, the chaos. Each help to tell an authentic story.
Recently I asked my mom to send me a few photos from my childhood for a project. While you would think my uneven bangs and acid wash sweatpants/jeans were the focal point, I couldn't stop staring at everything in the background. The furniture, the "electronics", the home decor, the holiday decorations--together they all told a story of a moment in time. I'll save the photos my mom dug up for a future blog post (I'm sure you can't wait!) In the meantime, my hope is that when I share authentic life (either my personal work or clients) with others I can give them the permission to see how beautiful everything in the picture is and that their "chaos" is too.
Liz and Jamie invited me into their beautiful new home last weekend and it was awesome! No need to clean up or wear matching clothes. Just authentic family life. I hope that when Liz and Jamie's children (and nieces and nephews who also joined in on the fun) ask for photos of their childhood in 20 years they have the same feeling I did when they look at these.
#ProjectWeekend | Feb 18-19
If you have been following along on this #projectweekend journey you have probably noticed by now that I missed posting last weekend. I told myself "no big deal, just make up for it the following weekend." But then this weekend came and it was GORGEOUS here in the Philly area with temperatures hovering around 70 degrees both Saturday and Sunday so that meant time to get outside and soak up all of the vitamin D I could find! Needless to say... my photos this weekend didn't make up for the lack of posting last week. Womp...womp...
On another note, I did get to document two incredible families this weekend. I can't wait to share with you a peek into both of those sessions later this week! I'm going to get back to editing and leave you with my #projectweekend post for February 18-19. Enjoy!
